Artwork Description

"Take a dip in the cool waters of Hamersley Gorge" is part of my Australian Landscapes series, being the theme of my first ever exhibition. I found this reference photo on Pixabay. I fell in love with this amazing image I created it three times. One as a watercolour on Yupo paper and two as mixed media using different textures and a smidgen of genuine gold. There's this lovely light coming through the gorge and I just love the varied coloured of the blue waters, simply inviting one to jump in and cool down. The colours reminded me of my one and only trip through the Australian Outback region.
For lovers of the Aussie Outback and adventure. Seeing as I have always been inspired by nature and I love colours, this image had both.
Original painting created in August 2018. Signed on the front. Ready to hang.
Artist quality Atelier Interactive Acrylics on deep edge gallery wrapped stretched canvas, landscape continued around the sides. I also used various dry media from Matisse and Chromacryl Impasto gel giving it a tactile texture and a smidgen of genuine Gold Leaf to add glitz to where the sun hits the exposed cliffs.
Styled scene, signature, hanging and in situ setting is for display purposes only and is not to scale. Just to give you an idea of how this Australian outback water hole of western Australia may look on your wall.
Finished with Satin finish spray varnish for protection.

Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
