Artwork Description

Watercolour on paper

Signed on the front.

"The Joy of Riding the Perfect Wave" is something a bit different for me, but it's Oh so part of Australia's culture. Spending a wonderfully enjoyable day with family and friends at any of the beautiful beaches along Australia's coast, and one can happily watch surfers catching the waves. Exhilarating to watch but for them it's bliss. I never learnt to ride myself, but oh, I would have loved to. It must be a huge thrill being out there riding that wave you've been waiting for.

a fantasy of swirling flowing blues of waters creating organic lines and patterns in blues and whitevarying tones of green foliage along the ragged banks of the slow moving water of the Murray River with the reflections and being in the spring season I added some pastel purple foliage to hint at Jacaranda bloomswhen visiting the amazing Blue Mountains National Park in late Spring and taking a walk / hike through the Australian bush one quite often comes across the Waratah shrub in full bloom, quite a standout with it's deep magenta / red blooms and teal blue / green leaves against a contrasting backdrop of varying tones of greens and browns a sunny spring morning in South Albury along the bank of the Murray River under the cover of three eucalyptus gum trees giving lots of shade in stark contrast to the sunlit areas on the other side and their soft reflections in the slow moving waters.
