Artwork Description

I've always enjoyed driving around the quaint villages one comes across in the Central West region of NSW and the historic old mining village of Hill End has the added bonus of being maintained and well kept for the future. I love how the old, barely standing fence posts add wonderful character to the area. In this case it's Denningtons Cottage with it's three chimney stacks , a verandah and spring flowers being surrounded by rickety fence posts. It was a joy to create "Three Chimney Cottage in Hill End".
Original painting created in March 2021. Signed on the front. Requires mat and frame for protection.
Artist quality Daniel Smith watercolours on 100% archival cotton rag.

Artist Bio

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
