Artwork Description

"Tranquil Murrumbidgee River' was inspired by one of our few road trips around NSW many years ago. I believe this is around the time we left Hay in the Riverina region, quite early in the morning and came across an access road to the Murrumbidgee River, where we strolled around, quite alone, just the birds chirping away as we enjoyed the great outdoors. I love depicting river scenes with their slow moving waters, their reflections and just the feeling of peace surrounding one. There's something quite calming for the soul, taking in the beauty of slow moving rivers.
Original painting created in October 2016. Signed on the front.
Artist quality Winsor & Newton Watercolours on 100% archival cotton rag. Requires mat and frame for protection.
Styled scene, hanging and in situ setting with or without mat and frame is for display purposes only and is not to scale. Just to give you an idea of how this serene river scene may look on your wall.

Artist Bio

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
