Two Horses Looking over the Fence at Byrock

Many years ago, I joined hubby and his two brothers to go on a tour to Birdsville from Sydney and it was our 2nd night where we stayed at a small location by the name of Byrock. Here, we set up camp by putting up a new tent, with the sun setting fast. It was rather hilarious at the time. Anyway, next morning we discovered these two lovely animals fenced in a paddock with no grass in sight, just bare ochre red ground. I haven't created many animal paintings, but this depicts the drought to a t. The title "Two Horses Looking over the Fence" has something to do with greener pastures being not quite in reach. Needless to say, we gave them whatever we could scramble together.
