This painting was inspired by the calling of a Boobook Owl outside my bedroom window. I had no idea it was this beautiful bird until I did some research. Their name really does sound like their call.

Boobook Owl, the Moon, Greengrocer Cicadas, Tiger Moths and some sneaky eyes of creatures staring out from the darkness and some other hidden features such as musical notes, writing and stars. This painting is an ongoing inspiration of the connectiveness of environmental systems. Inspired by the beauty of creatures attracted to my home in Northern NSW.
This artwork is on a stretched deep edged good quality cotton canvas and it has been painted on the sides. Acrylic Paint, Lead Pencil and Paint Pens on Stretched Canvas. Some areas of metallic gold paint and Silver Paint Pens give a shine in areas.
This painting is already stretched and ready to hang.

This painting has been custom professionally framed with a black wood that complements the painting and of course since it is inspired by the creatures active at night time, it was framed in black. Framing was performed by a local professional framer in exhibition condition.
This painting is varnished for protection with Satin varnish, including the sides.
