Artwork Description

In these very troubling times of quarantine and self-isolation, thoughts travel to the expectation of hope that Spring will bring - being out in the sunny gardens and parks where beautiful blossoms burst into life oblivious to the gloom that came before.

This is a small artwork that serves as a reminder of our coronavirus pandemic 2020 and how we as a global community united to overcome the restrictions and despair of isolation from our loved ones. Hope springs eternal.

Painted in professional acrylic paints on stretched good quality canvas and varnished with two coats to protect the art.

Artist Bio

Flowers bring vitality and joy to any space.
My passion lies in crafting contemporary botanical art that captures nature's essence, with a vibrant and sometimes whimsical flair, drawing inspiration from renowned impressionists such as Gauguin, Matisse, and Bonnard.

I have a background in graphic design publishing and art directing, including illustrating and designing various book titles and garden magazines. After leaving my hectic career I rediscovered my love for painting. I honed my skills at the National Art School in Sydney and the Waverley Woollahra Art School under the mentorship of (late) acclaimed artist Stavros Papantoniou. Supported by art enthusiasts worldwide, I showcase my work on platforms like Bluethumb Online Gallery, The Online Art Gallery Australia and Saatchi Art. Recently I have posted a small selection of prints on INPRNT.

When seeking inspiration, I enjoy exploring art galleries and exhibitions, as well as the tranquil botanical gardens that boast beautiful and ever-changing displays of blooming plants.
