Artwork Description

BLUE is a very popular colour, liked by nearly everyone! It’s nature’s colour for water and sky, denim jeans and corporate identity. Dark blue symbolises trust and authority. It also represents depression - “feeling blue”, “got the blues”, in a “blue mood”. Artists who were inspired by blue are Raoul Dufy and Matisse, just two that come to mind. I think a white floating frame would enhance this lightweight painting superbly..

Painted with professional acrylic paints on lightweight stretched canvas and varnished with two coats to protect the artwork.

Artist Bio

Flowers bring vitality and joy to any space.
My passion lies in crafting contemporary botanical art that captures nature's essence, with a vibrant and sometimes whimsical flair, drawing inspiration from renowned impressionists such as Gauguin, Matisse, and Bonnard.

I have a background in graphic design publishing and art directing, including illustrating and designing various book titles and garden magazines. After leaving my hectic career I rediscovered my love for painting. I honed my skills at the National Art School in Sydney and the Waverley Woollahra Art School under the mentorship of (late) acclaimed artist Stavros Papantoniou. Supported by art enthusiasts worldwide, I showcase my work on platforms like Bluethumb Online Gallery, The Online Art Gallery Australia and Saatchi Art. Recently I have posted a small selection of prints on INPRNT.

When seeking inspiration, I enjoy exploring art galleries and exhibitions, as well as the tranquil botanical gardens that boast beautiful and ever-changing displays of blooming plants.
