Artwork Description

I love exploring the Botanic Garden Sydney, there’s so much inspiration for art and I take way too many photos. The water lily pond is one of my favourites. This time a blue tongue lizard crossed my path and waited for his photo to be taken. I’ll include him in another painting. But, the beauty of the water lily in full bloom was such a magnificent sight dancing amongst the lily pads. It brought back memories of Monet’s garden in Giverny, something I’ll never forget.

Painted with professional acrylic paints on good quality stretched canvas with two coats of varnish to protect the art.

Artist Bio

Flowers bring vitality and joy to any space.
My passion lies in crafting contemporary botanical art that captures nature's essence, with a vibrant and sometimes whimsical flair, drawing inspiration from renowned impressionists such as Gauguin, Matisse, and Bonnard.

I have a background in graphic design publishing and art directing, including illustrating and designing various book titles and garden magazines. After leaving my hectic career I rediscovered my love for painting. I honed my skills at the National Art School in Sydney and the Waverley Woollahra Art School under the mentorship of (late) acclaimed artist Stavros Papantoniou. Supported by art enthusiasts worldwide, I showcase my work on platforms like Bluethumb Online Gallery, The Online Art Gallery Australia and Saatchi Art. Recently I have posted a small selection of prints on INPRNT.

When seeking inspiration, I enjoy exploring art galleries and exhibitions, as well as the tranquil botanical gardens that boast beautiful and ever-changing displays of blooming plants.
