Artwork Description

Kitchen Garden

Oil on Canvas Panel, will require a frame to hang
8x10 inches/ 20x25 cm

On retreat in Tasmania, this beautiful flower and vegetable garden kept the retreat full of flowers and food. Most evenings the ingredients for dinner came from the garden. If I wasn't an artist I'd be a gardener and would happily spend my days tending to a garden just like this.

Artist Bio

I’m a Canberra-based oil painter creating colourful, light-filled paintings of still life, florals and landscape.

My passion for painting began while living in Colorado, where I became immersed in the Denver art community and learned to paint in the alla prima tradition. This wet-into-wet approach allows me to work with fresh colour, loose brushwork and a sense of immediacy, giving each painting a lively and expressive surface.

I’m drawn to simple, beautiful subjects and the way light can transform an ordinary scene into something atmospheric and memorable. Much of my work is influenced by painting outdoors, where I can observe nature’s true colours and capture the feeling of a moment before it changes.

I have worked as an artist and teacher for over 10 years, sharing my love of oil painting through workshops, demonstrations and online classes. I am also the founder and director of Capital Plein Air, an annual outdoor painting festival held in Canberra that brings artists together to paint the autumn colour.

My paintings are held in private collections across Australia and internationally, and my work has received awards and been shortlisted in national exhibitions including the Lethbridge 20,000, The Doyle’s Art Awards and Bluethumb Art Awards.

Thank you for taking the time to view my work. I’m delighted to share these paintings with you.
