Original Artwork's Description

I have been coming to Moffat Beach for over 35 years surfing & swimming and now I bring my own family here, when you have been returning to the same place for so long there are usually elements that stand out and for me one of them is the White House on the hill, this is what my friends and I use to call it was for me the stand out feature for me either when I am out in the water surfing or being on the beach or surrounds I have always looked at this house standing right there on the oceans edge.

It always reminded me as a kid of the church tower standing over the bay in Waimea in Hawaii.
I was working on a job the other day and this angle of Moffat Beach sort of grabbed me as the house seamed to glow and I loved the way the street and gardens all fell down towards the bay it was high tide the start of summer and Christmas holidays had just started, this for me is what summer holidays are all about family friends hot beach mornings.

Hope this gives you the same happy summer feeling looking at this work, it definitely does for me.

Artist Bio

Thank you for popping in to look at my work,
My style is ever evolving but always staying true to my style.
Each painting is a lineage of my history hope you can see in my paintings what I feel & have experienced.
Now with collectors both interstate & internationally thanks to Bluethumb I love challenging myself to create in my own unique style.
Discovering new lines and marks with a brush pen or spray can, over varied but traditional surfaces.
My everyday living and experiences delivered to you in colour.

I love creating work in a variety of mediums, and experimenting at creating different aesthetics,
Fragments thoughts and feelings small windows from my surroundings that translate all this into a colour pallet the way I see it.
" Memories and my life created in colour light & texture, the paints tints allowing me to tell a story"
I have been painting and drawing for most of my life getting more serious in my late teens so has been a passion of mine for about 35 + years.
My Oil paintings are delivered framed in natural Tasmanian Oak with a custom shadow line / Or if you would like to do your own custom frame I can mail out unframed also. I mainly work on primed ply panel but also on various elements like Venetian Plaster over board that is also created by hand ( myself ) allowing
for different visuals & textured backgrounds.

I am based in Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast
QLD Australia.
I like to dwell on an idea / concept for a while and then re create and problem solve it with my paints or Ink then create it in my own unique style.

I am inspired by Impressionism , I have mainly been self taught with a passion for colour and contrasting imagery with heavy & visibly strong brush strokes the viewer can feel the light & movement in each piece created.
I love dappled light and enjoying the different angles brushstrokes create.

I have a strong connection to my surroundings & local beach scape and passion for the wildlife and flora people / family around me,
You may see a lot of influence in my work with these surroundings as my favourite pastime is being constantly outdoors either in the ocean surfing or fishing & camping.

Mediums I love to use are various and I love to experiment with Oils / Acrylic / Lime & Marble + Tints.
Feel free to drop me a message I am more than happy to have a chat!

Thank you for viewing
Kindest Regards Nick
