This is one of those days that will stay in my memory forever. My son and I chased a swell that passed Rainbow Beach and it was after tropical cyclone Gabrielle had travelled off shore.
We camped the night before so we could be up early to surf all day, it is a fickle wave but we managed to get it amazing, but this painting was more about the situation, as there was a group of us out on the sand bank that separates the mainland that fills in the lagoon on high tide. This image was as the tide peaked and we were all trapped with four wheel drives huddled together all the wheels were getting wet and had the tide come up much higher it would of been not such a happy day. My son is the figure captured looking on anxious as was I.
Mother Nature is the true power in the end that’s for sure.
