Sometimes light and colours overwhelm me it becomes
so hard to work out direction, then I like to simplify the painting making pure colour and patterns / shapes and put them down intuitively.
I love doing small scale works compressing everything into a little window using thick strokes of colour.
This is a self portrait with my son heading out for a surf with our local boardriders club.
When the swell is bigger we stand and watch where the water is moving and discuss the paddle out I love that he has trust in me to take him out.
