This stain glass style still life is a sweet original painting with watercolour washes held together with black ink linework.

Gold watercolour paint is painted around the rims of the cup and plate. Richly coloured cake amd fruit contrasts with the delicate tablecloth and bright yellow lemon for a vibrant and fun artwork.

Nicola is a Perth based multi-award winning artist and owner of The Artists Nook a collaborative artists team providing public and community art projects throughout WA. She has a BA Honours in Fine Art Printmaking from Gray’s School of Art in Scotland.

Her art practice encompasses printmaking and painting with a focus on linocut and watercolour. Nature is a constant throughout her work with native flowers and birds as subjects and motifs.

Art Nouveau and stained glass work have been an enduring inspiration and are echoed throughout her pieces. Juxtaposing flat ink against textural and tonal watercolour washes create a tactility in her still life and botanical pieces.
