Crooked cups is a whimsical watercolour and ink still life painting of stacked teacups and a sweet blue wren.
The cups are depicted with wonky perspectives and uneven symmetry to add a sense of naivety and playfulness. The handles are painted with a shimmery gold ink and each cup is patterned with different Australian flowers, wax, wattle, grevillea, bottlebrush and gum flowers. The tablecloth has a loose motif of banksia leaves.
• Painted on 650gsm cotton rag paper
