Flowers in a Round Vase Linocut Ed. 5 of 6

This piece is a still life study of a beautiful bouquet of native flowers. Recreated in a relief linocut the image has been stylized and imagined with bold patterns and setting while maintaining a balance of light and dark.

The artwork is a limited edition of six original prints produced with the highest quality paper and inks. It measures 205 x 220 mm with a minimum border of 25mm which features the title, edition number and signature in pencil. It is sold unframed.

Nicola is a Perth based multi-award winning artist and owner of The Artists Nook a collaborative artists team providing public and community art projects throughout WA. She has a BA Honours in Fine Art Printmaking from Gray’s School of Art in Scotland.

Her art practice encompasses printmaking and painting with a focus on linocut and watercolour. Nature is a constant throughout her work with native flowers and birds as subjects and motifs.

Art Nouveau and stained glass work have been an enduring inspiration and are echoed throughout her pieces. Juxtaposing flat ink against textural and tonal watercolour washes create a tactility in her still life and botanical pieces.
