Kingsmill's Mallee and Honeyeater

I found the beautiful Kingsmill's mallee flower on a recent visit to Perth's King's Park and used it in this painting with a New Holland Honeyeater. The beautiful flowering gums never fail to inspire me with their diversity.
Depicted in my recent stained glass style with washes of watercolour held together by a web of inked lines. Using traditional pen and ink to create organic lines which contrast with the loose washes of paint.
