Kookaburra Vase is a large still life painting depicting a large vase with overflowing gum and grevillea flowers.
A sweet kookaburra and tree branches adorn the vase and act as decoration and a secondary artwprk within the piece.
Oversized gum flowers and their leaves reach the corners of the artwork with grevillea flowers filling more space. Overlapping and drawn in a stylized way to allow washes of watercolour to fill the paper.
The black ink line work contrast with the light filled washes and makes the piece look like stained glass. The ink line work picks out each element of the image with an overlay of organic expressive lines to hold it all together.
Painted with artists quality materials on 650gsm watercolour paper.
