This limited edition original linocut Sunrise Serenade depicts two beautiful Australian magpies against a stylized landcsape.

I am lucky to have a large magpie family on our oroperty and waking up to their chatter every morning and they provide endless inspiration and joy.

The artwork is made up of pattern and shape with a busy-ness that pulls you in to explore the areas of quiet and intricate carved marks.

This edition is limited to 6 original handpulled prints on 300gsm cotton rag paper using archival quality oil based inks each coloured in a different colourway.

Nicola is a Perth based multi-award winning artist and owner of The Artists Nook a collaborative artists team providing public and community art projects throughout WA. She has a BA Honours in Fine Art Printmaking from Gray’s School of Art in Scotland.

Her art practice encompasses printmaking and painting with a focus on linocut and watercolour. Nature is a constant throughout her work with native flowers and birds as subjects and motifs.

Art Nouveau and stained glass work have been an enduring inspiration and are echoed throughout her pieces. Juxtaposing flat ink against textural and tonal watercolour washes create a tactility in her still life and botanical pieces.
