The Table in the Corner is a watercolour and ink still life created for Kings Park Botanic 2023 exhibition.
Made up of juxtaposing organic and geometric shapes, a yellow-green vase sits on a blue checked tablecloth holding a bouquet of flowering gums and wattle. The distinctive gum leaves and flowers depicted flowing up and over the vase are filled with olive and yellow greens echoing the colours of the vase while the wattle leaves reflect the blues in the tablecloth.
Vibrant layers of watercolour are built up and are all held together with intricate black ink linework giving a stained glass effect,
WA plants featured: Eucalyptus caesia, Acacia saligna
Painted with archival artists quality paints and ink on 300gsm cotton rag watercolour paper and professionally framed with a textured black frame. The artwork is mounted to sit proud of the backing matt, giving a floating effect.
