Wattle Vase is an original linocut relief print

A still life of a wattle-decorated vase filled with banksia, billy button, bottlebrush, gum and hakea flowers. Inspired by the beautiful flowers blooming in WA in spring.

This varaible edition has 5 original handpulled prints coloured with washes of beautiful watercolours.

The lino is carved in an expressive way with a balance of tight details and open areas. The flowers playfully overflow their border.

Printed on 300gsm cotton rag  paper with artists quality ink and paints.

Numbered, signed and titled on the border in a limited edition of 5 original prints, each one coloured a little differently

Nicola is a Perth based multi-award winning artist and owner of The Artists Nook a collaborative artists team providing public and community art projects throughout WA. She has a BA Honours in Fine Art Printmaking from Gray’s School of Art in Scotland.

Her art practice encompasses printmaking and painting with a focus on linocut and watercolour. Nature is a constant throughout her work with native flowers and birds as subjects and motifs.

Art Nouveau and stained glass work have been an enduring inspiration and are echoed throughout her pieces. Juxtaposing flat ink against textural and tonal watercolour washes create a tactility in her still life and botanical pieces.
