Artwork Description

This original seascape painting is 16" x 20". It is hand painted on canvas with brushes and a palette knife.
The painting is signed on the front.
This sea painting portrays a mini wave breaking on the beach. The subtle blue-green of shallow ocean water adds a calm, soothing element. The scene is captured with a lot of detail to create a realistic look and sense of being present on the ocean shore. The ocean is painted with various shades of blue.
In this painting I wanted show beautiful colors of the Gulf of Mexico as it is based on the photo I took in Florida.
Seascapes help you bring the tranquility of the beach into your home. There is nothing in the world that conjure peace quite like the sound of waves crashing on the shore.
- The muted colors of this artwork will look great in any interior from modern, contemporary to a traditional and they are perfect fit for a beach house decor and coastal waterfront homes. Add this painting to your existing wall gallery or start your collection of sea art. Create a peaceful nook for relaxation in your office or add a coastal vibe to your living room or entryway.
I practice traditional technique of painting in thin layers, starting with a tonal under painting, taking my time with each piece, creating multiple layers and enjoying the creative process. My artwork has almost no texture.

**Please keep in mind that all computer monitors can display colors differently, but these photos were taken in daylight to offer the best representation of color.

Artist Bio

Olga Jones works predominantly with oils on traditional seascapes and coastal landscapes as well as contemporary water paintings. While life has taken her to live in different countries, she has always lived in coastal areas in short proximity to a sea that has become the main theme of her art. She was born in Ukraine, raised in Russia, she moved to US in 2001.
As a child Olga displayed great interest in painting. Her family enrolled her in an art school and she graduated with straight As. Her first job was painting matreshkas (Russian nesting dolls). With turmoil followed the collapse of the Soviet Union life has gotten in the way of the passion. However, even when she was not painting, she always stayed creative, making jewelry and small crafts. She returned to painting in 2018.
She practices traditional technique of painting in thin layers, starting with a tonal underpainting, taking her time with each piece and enjoying her creative process.
Waves, beautiful skies and moody atmosphere are often the subject matter of her work. Every scene: bright tropical skies, stormy seas or coastal dunes is put on canvas in hopes to capture its beauty and feelings they brought her.
