Running Girl is a painting that was recreated from memory. On a day when I was observing the world, several interesting scenes crossed my eye. Here a school girl bounded across my path to cross the road. The girl and her dog were full of playful energy, a contrast to the mundane day that surrounded us. I, the spectator, froze the moment in my mind, so taken was I with the Giacometti-like legs of the dog and the swoosh of the girl's hair. It was captivating.
