Companion piece to Gathering. Abstract dalliance of movement, colour and barely restrained energy! Here the swarm is breaking free from the pack, reaching out and extending. This piece is the first in a series of abstract pieces. The other two are Gathering and Exodusis. The series tells a story of ethereal elements coming together as if called by nature and ultimately leaving. This can relate to life and death or movement through migration. Everything is permanently in a state of flux and osmosis, everything effects everything else. I also wanted to use colour that I wouldn't normally use. I liked the paint colliding on the canvas to make nuances that were unique.
