The Prom documents the natural beauty of the Prom. This piece was painted at Tidal River, Wilsons Promontory, a popular holiday destination for my family, in Victoria. Pristine beaches are dominated by the huge boulders and rocks which are composed of granite and heavy with iron. The texture is rough in places and smooth in others. In this piece I used a wide palette knife and sweeping gestures to capture the organic shapes and feeling exuded by these giants of natures. Each one unique in their beauty.
The sides are painted in a wrap around style which makes framing optional. Ready to hang.
