Artwork Description

Uphill by Olga Megele

This landscape contains beautiful, multiple layers of texture and colour. Even more beautiful in real life. It glows with rich ochres, sienna, and reds. Broad confident strokes of the palette knife are evident. It is a stunning and evocative piece.

Uphill sits as a piece that belongs to my repeating themes of journeys. Here I muse on the glass half full/half empty trope in a different context. I prefer to think that uphill is a good thing in a journey, human endeavour pushes us to the peak.

Influenced by the great tradition of Australian landscape artist.
The sides are painted in a wrap around style which makes framing optional. Ready to hang together or separately. 3 x 61 x 76 x 3.5cm Stretched Canvas. Total 183 x 76 x 3.5cm

Signed with a certificate of authenticity.

Artist Bio

Olga's style varies from realism to abstraction. Her paint application is like handwriting, bold and confident. Each piece is a journey. She asks questions of herself and the viewer. The work delves into spaces that you forgot about, it clutches your heart just so that it can simply caress it and then carefully release it back to you. Olga is searching for a connection with her audience.
With degrees in Visual Art and Education, Olga continues to hone her skills with her prolific output. She is an active member of several art societies and exhibits widely.
Olga's work is held in private collections throughout Australia and in the USA.
