Your words is a little autobiographical painted at the same time in my life as Your Words Fall Like Leaves. Words are important and they have the power to delight, to wound and to inspire. The words in this piece are the inscribing from a year in the life of my love. The crossing out, the notations and the remembering, the past that intrudes on our present. The hills are the view of the Dandenong Ranges that I see from my studio. They echo the closeness that I feel to nature, the pull of a place and a recurring motif in my life. Here the two collide in the push and pull of life. His words, my words, our desires.
