Layers of History

This artwork is one I did about 12 years ago. I have enjoyed it for so long, now I reckon it is time for some one else to enjoy the beauty and simplicity of this painting.
I am an old fella and the inspiration came from the sandstone cuttings of the then new F3 now the M1 highway near the Hawksbury River bridge, Central Coast NSW in the 1970's.
The sandstone cuttings then were sharp and clean and all different colours. maybe not as spectacular as my painting, but you get the idea.
The base for the painting is highly textured and is symbolic of the layers of history found in the rock cuttings. The colours are a reflection of a past time eons ago.
With good lighting this painting / sculpture shows an extra depth in the shadow lines and curves.
To be honest, I don't know anyone else using this technique, maybe there is ?
On the back is a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity, Also it is wired,ready to hang and has Felt cushions to protect your walls.

Patrick has lived on the Central Coast of New South Wales for over 60 years. His work reflects parts of his life with a bold and vibrant colour palette.

His introductory works were mainly contemporary in nature, consisting of lively acrylics on a wildly textured bases. The assortment of bases gives Patrick’s work depth, while the bulk and shadow lines bolster the pieces character.

As Patrick’s work is evolutionary his latest style remains contemporary , however he also uses various acrylics in fluid states to produce a mixture of abstract colours and shapes.

Most of Patrick’s inspiration comes from the everyday world around him and his family. He enjoys the challenge of mastering different techniques, which will continue to enhance his future works. His art works are all original.

Every one of Patrick's paintings has a special story attached to it, and they are all very personal to him. Patrick's art has been sold to collectors internationally and nationally.
