Artwork Description

This sculpture / painting was made in 2008 . It is a heavy piece because the plaster base is very thick. I wanted it thick so I could give the artwork some deep definition which adds to the character.

The influence for this piece came from a packet of Licorice all sort candy. Where I come from this particular candy has layers of Licorice and multi coloured chewy fillings about 2cm cubed in size . Very tasty if you like the aniseed taste of Licorice.

When I was a kid I loved going to the candy shop and buying licorice. Now you can buy it from any super market. Takes the fun out of candy shopping.

The painting is 122 cm wide and 91 cm high and 4 cm deep. It weights 6.1 Kg.
The plaster on canvas is stabilized by having wooden blocks glued under the stretcher bars on the back. The edges are fully painted so there is no need for a frame.

On the back is a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity. It is wired ready to hang and has cushions to protect your walls.

This painting will be shipped in a crate for your protection.
