Nuance

This painting is a lovely abstract swirl. I tried to balance the heavy lower half with a lighter top half, making the piece in harmony with life in the human form or life in general.

The earthy iron oxide (red) is in two shades of dilution representing the red earth of Australia and the Cool Blue two tones represents the encircling oceans.
The touch of gold represents the wealth of the people and the land of Australia and the bounty of the oceans around this great island home.

The name Nuance means the subtle differences in shade or meaning of expression.
That is the meaning of this painting. There are different shades of colour to represent the differences in cultures , creeds and expressions in our diverse land.

This painting is 91 cm high and 122 cm wide and 4 cm deep. It weighs 2.5Kgs. It is finished in a subtle satin varnish that enhances the colour and protects the paint.

On the back is a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity. It is wired ready to hang and has felt cushions to protect your walls.

Patrick has lived on the Central Coast of New South Wales for over 60 years. His work reflects parts of his life with a bold and vibrant colour palette.

His introductory works were mainly contemporary in nature, consisting of lively acrylics on a wildly textured bases. The assortment of bases gives Patrick’s work depth, while the bulk and shadow lines bolster the pieces character.

As Patrick’s work is evolutionary his latest style remains contemporary , however he also uses various acrylics in fluid states to produce a mixture of abstract colours and shapes.

Most of Patrick’s inspiration comes from the everyday world around him and his family. He enjoys the challenge of mastering different techniques, which will continue to enhance his future works. His art works are all original.

Every one of Patrick's paintings has a special story attached to it, and they are all very personal to him. Patrick's art has been sold to collectors internationally and nationally.
