Artwork Description

This is another of my Plaster based sculpture / painting. I just love making art that you can feel.

The influence behind this piece is a little different, but then again if you have seen some of my other works, They are all different.
Truth is I am a very practical person and direct. So the story behind this artwork is that in another time in my life I was a property developer and was always on my building sites.
One windy day I was on site and had all my paper files on the hood of my 4x4 when a gust of wind blew them ever where. That is what gave me the idea for this piece.

Now the construction of it was a real trick. I made 7 Trapezium shaped hollow cards, stuck them together, plastered over them, then with the help of my son, gentle lifted the cards. Then paint!!!!
A lot of thought and a lot of fun. It looks fantastic on a wall with the correct lighting.
The texture gives it depth and the shadow lines give it character.

This piece is 152 cm wide and 76 cm high and 4 cm thick. It weighs 5 Kg.

I made this piece in 2007 on a quality canvas and is blocked at the back for the stability of the plaster.
It has had pride of place in my den and as I am not getting any younger, I think it is time that it went to some one that appreciates the beauty of this piece, as much as I do.

On the back is a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity. It is wired ready to hand and has felt cushions to protect your walls.
It does not need a frame as the edges are fully painted.

Artist Bio

Patrick has lived on the Central Coast of New South Wales for over 60 years. His work reflects parts of his life with a bold and vibrant colour palette.

His introductory works were mainly contemporary in nature, consisting of lively acrylics on a wildly textured bases. The assortment of bases gives Patrick’s work depth, while the bulk and shadow lines bolster the pieces character.

As Patrick’s work is evolutionary his latest style remains contemporary , however he also uses various acrylics in fluid states to produce a mixture of abstract colours and shapes.

Most of Patrick’s inspiration comes from the everyday world around him and his family. He enjoys the challenge of mastering different techniques, which will continue to enhance his future works. His art works are all original.

Every one of Patrick's paintings has a special story attached to it, and they are all very personal to him. Patrick's art has been sold to collectors internationally and nationally.
