While creating this painting, I wanted to capture one of Venice’s most enchanting moments at twilight. As the evening sky glows with soft pink and violet hues, the historic architecture dissolves into quiet silhouettes while warm lights begin to shimmer across the gently rippling water. A solitary gondola rests peacefully, adding a sense of timeless romance to the floating city. I used expressive, simplified brushwork to reduce architectural detail and instead emphasize the dialogue between light, color, and reflection. Through layered paint and the contrast of warm and cool tones, I sought to create an atmosphere of serenity, depth, and poetic beauty that invites the viewer into the timeless charm of Venice.
