Through the keyhole

This drawing of a young boy peering into a keyhole, with subtleties of light and shadow, represents curiosity and the allure of the unknown. It celebrates the wonder of childhood and embracing of secrets or mysteries yet to be discovered.
"Through the keyhole" is drawn in graphite and charcoal on Fabriano 300 gsm paper then mounted on a cradled birch board and sealed with cold wax.

Peta Harvey is a Brisbane-based scientist with a not-so-secret life as an artist. After studying Ceramics at the Australian National University’s School of Art, her creative energy is now focused on developing drawing skills and exploring the freshness and spontaneity of ink and watercolour painting, often in combination with pen or pencil.

Peta exhibits frequently in group shows and has been selected for a variety of curated exhibitions. Most notably, she has been a finalist with her portraits and figurative works in the Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize 2022, Lethbridge 20000 Small Scale Art Award (2020-2023, 2026) with a Highly Commended award in 2021, Bluethumb Art Prize 2022, and Revival Art & Design Emerging Artist Prize 2023-2024.
