We called this abstract painting "Coastal Vista" because the gold creates a beautiful contrast to the blue much like the contrast of sand and the ocean on many an ocean coastline.
This painting is an endless discovery of patterns and interest with layers of colour creating a depth through pete's signature Mosaic Method! and chrissy's peacock points!
"Coastal Vista" is a contrast of beautiful layered blues, tonal metallic copper gold , and various metallic golds and champagne gold creating an impressionistic view of water and sand...
The metallic lines of gold champagne and white gold glisten with the changing light. With many of our artworks, the canvas and/or our techniques create different textures! All part of the discovery when viewing our paintings!

We are pete + chrissy, contemporary Australian artists creating original abstract works inspired by the movement, energy and natural rhythms of the coastline and earth.
Our work is known for its luminous quality — layers of colour, light and subtle texture interact to create pieces that shift and evolve throughout the day. Collectors often describe our paintings as opalescent and alive in different lighting.

Using our signature “scientartist” approach, we develop and refine our own paint combinations to create depth, cellular detail and organic flow that cannot be replicated. Each piece is the result of both experimentation and control — where art and process meet.
