ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Emerald Dreamtime explores the meeting place of flowing water, light and the rich colours found in nature.

Layers of emerald, aqua, turquoise and soft seafoam drift across the canvas, creating depth, movement and luminous cellular formations. Metallic highlights subtly catch the light throughout the day, giving the artwork an elegant, almost opalescent quality.

Peaceful from a distance yet endlessly detailed up close, each viewing reveals something new.

We are pete + chrissy, contemporary Australian artists creating original abstract works inspired by the movement, energy and natural rhythms of the coastline and earth.
Our work is known for its luminous quality — layers of colour, light and subtle texture interact to create pieces that shift and evolve throughout the day. Collectors often describe our paintings as opalescent and alive in different lighting.

Using our signature “scientartist” approach, we develop and refine our own paint combinations to create depth, cellular detail and organic flow that cannot be replicated. Each piece is the result of both experimentation and control — where art and process meet.
