When General Motors realised there was an issue with their ignition switches which was going to lead to people’s deaths, they quickly did the calculation….how much will the recall cost the company V’s how many people will die and what financial cost will they face through those lawsuits. Unfortunately the latter was less than the former and the decision was made to allow people to die rather than interrupt their quest for exponential growth for their shareholders.
I feel bad for those execs in a way, they are going to have to live with knowing what they did for the rest of their lives!
