Often when I am developing a technique i will often paint a reproduction of another artists drawing or illustration. I’m often looking for interesting images to imitate in order to practice. I am currently experimenting with a new style and when I came across some illustrated tarot cards on Pinterest I knew I had to give one a try.

Pete Conroy is an English artist based in Echuca. He focuses his attention on portraits and distortion of the human face and figure. Using traditional techniques mixed with a modern style he paints humans with impossibly stretched facial features and limbs.
Where the shape and structure of his subjects are out of sync with reality he attempts to bring the characters back into the realistic realm with a mix of modern and traditional techniques of oil painting.
