The Lost Tommies - “The Lads” A recreation of an old WW1 found photograph. Who were The Lads? What were their stories? Did they make it home? A touching tribute to some brave young men of a bygone era. I hope I did them justice.
Pete Conroy is an English artist based in Echuca. He focuses his attention on portraits and distortion of the human face and figure. Using traditional techniques mixed with a modern style he paints humans with impossibly stretched facial features and limbs. Where the shape and structure of his subjects are out of sync with reality he attempts to bring the characters back into the realistic realm with a mix of modern and traditional techniques of oil painting.
