Artwork Description

There are a lot of people out there who want the worst for the world (war, famine, depression etc…) for no other reason than to walk up to a friend and say “I told you so”.
Because the politician that they didn’t vote for wins, they then spend the next few years wishing their own country goes down the drain so that they can be right about that argument they had with someone 4 years ago. Those people are dangerous and also ridiculous.

The painting is an appropriation of an old American illustrator. I can’t remember who but when I do I’ll update the comment and credit.

Artist Bio

Pete Conroy is an English artist based in Echuca. He focuses his attention on portraits and distortion of the human face and figure. Using traditional techniques mixed with a modern style he paints humans with impossibly stretched facial features and limbs.
Where the shape and structure of his subjects are out of sync with reality he attempts to bring the characters back into the realistic realm with a mix of modern and traditional techniques of oil painting.
