This painting is the second of a series on my impression of the Frangipani tree, flowers and leaves. I tried to capture the patterns in the leaves and the contrast of dark green and white under a blue sky.
I painted in a simple way and I think this is a cooling , fresh and cheerful painting. I lived in an area where there were many Frangipani trees and each time I walked past I could see parts of the tree that I thought would make a good composition. All of the Frangipani paintings are based on real Frangipani trees.
