This painting is a retro image of an Australian Rules Football goal referee signalling a goal. I wanted to capture the crowd reactions along with the unique signalling custom in AFL. I used images from photographs to collate the crowd reactions and looked up images of AFl referees from the 1980s. It is a unique and fun painting.
