This painting is one of a series of impressions of Hyde Park in Perth. I live nearby and wanted to create some paintings of the scenes I see. This is a view of a section of the park with Jacaranda trees in full blossom. Underneath sit groups of young mothers and friends. Behind, in the background is a popular bakery and coffee shop with a queue. People buy a coffee and a pastry and sit under the trees. I wanted to try a create my view of this peaceful scene in my naive style.
