Artist Bio

I enthusiastically embrace life, looking for experiences that bring pleasure and teach me more about our world. Born in England, I left school to study fashion at the University for the Creative Arts in Rochester, Kent. It wasn’t long before the lights of London called me, and, at 18, I managed to get a position at Jaeger, an international fashion house. In 1980 Peter, my husband, and I decided to move to Australia, and we’ve been here ever since.

Soon after arriving in this incredible country, we started our first business in Sydney. Our self-employment journey continued, some of them together and some on my own. In later years, one of my two daughters joined me on the ongoing adventure. A florist, a café, designing and producing cross-stitch books, and self-publishing and selling craft books were early ventures. Developing and managing hospitality venues came later. My interest in graphics and images led me to design and build websites.

There have been many exciting changes, but one constant for over 20 years has been my passion for photography. I mainly taught myself – as I have with most things in my life – but the need to expand my photography knowledge led me to study for a qualification. So, at 58, I undertook a Photography and Photo Imaging diploma at Billy Blue College of Design in Sydney. It was a fabulous experience.

I had my first exhibition, Serenity, alongside Peter, in November 2019 at The Incinerator in Willoughby, Sydney, and I have sold my work in the US, UK and Australia.
