One of a series of Coffee Pot themed artworks painted from life in natural light in the historic surrounds of the Victorian Artists Society 150 year old building.
The methodology is tonal realism with a modern impressionistic style. An unashamed colourist aiming to complete in limited time a painterly work alla prima.

Ray enjoys tonal impressionist oil painting, the study of light, in the tradition of early Australian artists (Meldrum et al). He challenges himself to keeping it simple and painterly.
Ray is a fellow and signatory member of the Victorian Artists Society and his works appear in collections in Victoria, interstate and internationally. He has also won numerous awards.
