A study in materials and method and muted colour in pastel to describe this young woman’s portrait profile. The brown-paper bag background compliments the blue top she wears beautifully.

This artwork would look great on its own or fit seamlessly into a gallery wall. I do love an eclectic gallery wall! I would suggest framing it with a 24 x 24 cm opening with either a 5 or 10 cm mat border to give it some breathing space.

Rebecca Hepworth is a Western Australian artist and illustrator working predominantly in drawing, painting and illustration using a variety of methods and materials. Since graduating in 2020 with a Bachelor of Contemporary Arts from Edith Cowan University she has created from her studio in Perth’s North.

Her current work revolves around experimenting and combining different methods, mediums and source imagery to create new scenes, personal meaning and unexpected analogies. She is interested in human nature, relationships, animals and our shared environments. The inspiration for much of Hepworth’s work is found in everyday scenes, children's picture books, fashion magazines, advertising campaigns, and nature.
