Artwork Description

Foundational Series: Studio Blueprint No. 220
The Work
"Studio Blueprint No. 220" is an introspective study of posture and internal focus. Part of the Foundational Series, this work captures a solitary kneeling figure, utilizing the "blueprint" method to strip away superfluous detail and highlight the structural grace of the human silhouette. The verticality of the composition lends a sense of meditative stillness to the subject.
The artwork is executed on gessoed archival canvas paper, which provides a rugged, high-tooth surface. Fields of warm terracotta and ochre acrylic paint create the tonal body of the figure, while bold, architectural strokes of heavy oil pastel define the skeletal and muscular contours. The interplay between the fluid underpainting and the waxy, textured pastel lines creates a compelling visual and physical depth.
Technical Specifications
Series: Foundational Series (Studio Blueprint)
Medium: Professional Acrylic and Heavy Oil Pastel
Support: Gessoed Archival Canvas Paper
Dimensions: 297 x 420 mm (Designed to fit standard A3 framing)
Signature: Signed and numbered on the reverse to maintain the clean, minimalist aesthetic of the front.
Collector’s Note on Framing
This original work is sold unframed.
To echo the archival, "blueprint" aesthetic of the Atelier, I recommend a float mount (where the paper appears to hover) within a deep-profile walnut or natural timber frame. This presentation allows the tactile edges of the canvas paper and the visible gesso textures to remain a central feature of the display.
Shipping & Handling
To preserve the impasto texture of the oil pastels and the integrity of the gessoed support, this work will be shipped flat in a reinforced, moisture-sealed archival mailer. This ensures the piece arrives in pristine gallery condition, ready for immediate framing.
