Artwork Description

Foundational Series | Studio Blueprint No. 233

The Concept
Studio Blueprint No. 233 is a sophisticated exploration of form and structural integrity. Part of the Foundational Series, this work is an analytical deep-dive into the "bones" of a subject, stripping away the superficial to reveal the raw, geometric scaffolding beneath. It is a study of weight, balance, and the intersection of organic silhouettes with intentional, mapped lines.

The Aesthetic
Executed on raw kraft paper, the work utilizes a deep indigo ink that provides a heavy, monolithic presence against the warm, earthy mid-tones of the paper. The contrasting linework acts as a "blueprint," inviting the viewer to see the composition not as a finished object, but as a construction in progress. The result is a piece that feels both grounded and intellectually curious.

Materials & Technical Details

• Medium: A rich layering of professional acrylics and structural oil pastels. The heavy indigo acrylic provides a deep, matte foundation, while the oil pastel allows for expressive, gestural linework that sits on the surface with tactile energy.

• Finish: The work has been carefully sealed with a professional matte medium to preserve the integrity of the oil pastel and ensure the pigments remain vibrant and protected over time.

• Surface: Executed on a warm, heavy-weight A3 (297 x 420mm) kraft paper, chosen for its organic texture and mid-tone depth.

• Shipping: This piece is sold unframed and will be shipped rolled in a heavy-duty mailing tube. This ensures the safest journey to its new home and allows the collector the flexibility to choose a frame that perfectly suits their interior style.

A Note on Framing

Because this piece is on A3 kraft paper with beautiful natural tones, it looks particularly striking when "float mounted" in a slightly larger frame. This allows the raw edges of the paper to be visible, highlighting the "Studio Blueprint" aesthetic.
