The Concept
Studio Blueprint No. 234 is a commanding exploration of structural mass and vibrant chromatics. As a pivotal piece in the Foundational Series, this work moves away from earthy tones into a high-contrast study of "pure form." It utilizes a "blueprint" methodology to map the internal scaffolding of a silhouette, translating raw observation into a deconstructed, crystalline geometry.
The Aesthetic
This work is a celebration of Pure Ultramarine. The expansive blue silhouette acts as a monolithic field of color, providing a rich, textural backdrop for the bone-white structural lines. The visible brushwork in the acrylic base (visible in the detail shots) captures a sense of "studio energy" and movement, while the creamy oil pastel adds a tactile, three-dimensional relief.
Materials & Technical Details
• Medium: Pigment-rich ultramarine polymers and architectural oil pastel.
• Surface: Executed on heavy-weight, acid-free archival art paper (A2 size / 420 x 594mm). The crisp white of the paper creates a luminous, high-contrast intensity that pops in modern interiors.
• Finish: The work has been sealed with a specialist matte archival medium. This safeguards the tactile oil pastel and ensures the longevity of the blue pigments without adding an artificial shine.
• Shipping: Sold unframed and shipped rolled in a heavy-duty, wide-diameter archival mailing tube to protect the surface integrity.
Styling & Framing
Given its A2 scale and clean white borders, this piece is ideally suited for a float mount (as shown in the mock-up images). Framing in a simple black frame creates a sophisticated "luxury" look, while natural timber like Tasmanian Oak offers a warmer, contemporary Scandi feel.
