In addition to preferring oil pastels for their likeness to oil paint- Rebecca uses Oil pastels for their creaminess and texture, Rebecca also sees drawing as a deeply personal and introspective activity. For her, portrait drawings are not necessarily about capturing the sitter's likeness, but rather a reflection of her own emotions and thoughts in that moment. In a sense, every portrait is a self-portrait, as it reveals something about Rebecca's inner world at the time of creation.

For Rebecca, each piece of art is like a journal entry to her mind, capturing her thoughts and feelings in a tangible form. She finds a sense of comfort in being able to express herself through her art, using it as a way to process her experiences and emotions. By creating art with oil pastels, she is able to fully immerse herself in the creative process, using her fingers to blend and manipulate the materials to her liking. This physical engagement with the art-making process helps to further connect her with her inner thoughts and feelings.
