I remember when I was so excited to start painting this, then I hit a dead end and left it gathering dust for four months.
I decided to finish it as I didn't want it collecting dust no more. The originally title of the artwork was "The Water Pourer" but then I googled what that meant...
The inspiration for this artwork came from visiting Foliage Plant Studio in Adelaide for some indoor plants. I brought from them a ficus and a pilea. I used my own plants for the artwork as a reference. I liked the idea of a girl from a William Adolphe Bourgeau artwork coming into a indoor plant studio and watering them. This is from my series 'Classical Indoor Collection'.
